About Slough
Slough is one of the largest town in Berkshire, situated in the south-east of England. The city has a total population of 161,055 according to the mid-2016 census. Slough town is a unitary authority reside within the county of Buckinghamshire. Various nearby cities to Slough are; Windsor to the south, Uxbridge to the northeast, Maidenhead to the west and Beaconsfield to the north. After World War I, the town of Slough established as a centre of varied light industries. The city has expanded dramatically, integrating some different villages. Cippenham, Poyle, Chalvey, Wexham, Langley, Upton and Colnbrook are suburbs of Slough town.
Outside London city, the slough town has the highest concentration of global corporate headquarters. In single private ownership, the Slough trading estate is the most extensive industrial estate in Europe. It provides more than 17,000 jobs in nearly around 400 businesses. Head offices of large companies such as Blackberry, Burger King, McAfee and Lego are situated in the Slough town.
Governance
The town of Slough became a local government area in the year 1863. In 1875, Upton-cum-Chalvey Civil Parish was converted. It became the Slough Urban Sanitary District. In 1930, the city apportioned into electoral wards. By Royal Charter, it became a Municipal Borough in the year 1938.
In 1998, Slough became a unitary authority. Under second Royal Charter, Borough status dissolution is received. To represent the views of younger people the town has had a Youth parliament since 2015.

Transport
Slough town recognised as a travel hub. It is near to Heathrow airport, Maidenhead, London and Uxbridge. Slough's residents travel to nearby cities and towns such as Reading, London, Windsor and Bracknell for work purpose. To visit the city; buses, minicabs and taxis are used. For travelling to London city, Greenline coaches and buses can be used. Coaches run to Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton and Leeds from Southhall through Slough town. Slough town is situated between M4, M40 and M25.
First Great Western stations serve the town at Langley, Burnham and Slough. The station of Slough town is a junction between the Slough to Windsor & Eton Line and the Great Western Main Line. It allows passengers to connect to Windsor & Eton Central. A railway line named as 'The Windsor Link Railway' and it is planned to connect the Slough town to Heathrow Terminal 5. WRATH, rail project announced by the DFT is a Western Rail Access to Heathrow. This rail link would serve the town directly with four trains every hour. It will decrease travel times for the passengers.
Climate
About 8 km east of Slough town centre, there is London Heathrow Airport that is known as the weather observing station of the town. In summer, this part has the warmest temperature during daytime. According to the normals of 1981-2010, in July the average high temperature noted was 74.3°F. The level of rainfall in the Slough town is low as compared to the British Isles.
